BIOSTATISTICIANS, JUNIOR and SENIOR
For leading US biotechnology companies working to discover, develop,
manufacture and market human pharmaceuticals in many therapeutic areas.
The positions are in the San Francisco, CA area, upstate New York and
Maryland.
COMPENSATION: Salaries range from 85k to 170k plus bonuses,

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the clinical development team, collaborates in the
preparation of clinical assessments.
Provides sound strategic, statistical and scientific input on project
objectives, experimental design and data analysis to meet project needs
and
FDA statistical requirements.
Reviews clinical protocols, authors protocol statistical analysis
sections
and generates study randomization.
Reviews Case Report Forms to ensure that protocol objectives are met and
project standards are maintained.
May author statistical analysis results in the clinical study report and
ensures that report is submitted through the review process.
May represent the Biostatistics department at FDA meetings.
Responsible for statistical input to responses to FDA questions and for
statistical content of presentations at Advisory Committee
Meetings.
Assumes statistical responsibility for major segments of a project such
as
the integrated safety/efficacy section of a BLA/NDA submission.
Provides support for clinical investigator publications.
Encourages and contributes to discussion and preparation of
publications and
lectures on biometrics issues in clinical trials, both inside and
outside
the company.
Engages in research in statistics to improve clinical trial methodology
used
in the development of the company's products.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ph.D. in Biostatistics/Statistics
Experience in a clinical trials environment:
JUNIOR (I) BIOSTATISTICIANS - 1-2 years
SENIOR (II) BIOSTATISTICIANS 2-5 years
Understanding of regulatory guidelines in a pharmaceutical research
setting
involving FDA submissions is preferred but not necessary.
Sound knowledge of theoretical and applied statistics.
Experience and proficiency with SAS.
Team contributor with effective leadership abilities.
Planning and organization skills
Well developed oral and written skills to include effective presentation
skills.
Support communications between the US and UK/India.
Provide technical advice and support to US organization in matters
related
to data management and biostatistics, including support with client and
project discussions.
Support business development activities in relation to biomdtric
services,
including proposal and budget input/development and client
presentations.
Provide guidance and oversight in the development of biometric service
offerings within the US.
Software to be used: ClinTrial 4, Oracle Clinical 4, SAS & 2,
RDC packages

10 years experience in pharma and/or CRO environment working in the
