| 2009 Honor a Statistician Award |

The Connecticut Chapter is recognizing Chapter
members who have made significant contributions
to statistics and its applications with the
Honor A Statistician Award. Involvement in
Chapter activities is also considered. This year
we were pleased to present
Sterling Hardy with the award.
Sterling was presented with the award at the
Chapter Banquet in June 2009. |

| Short biography of Sterling Hardy |
|
Sterling Hardy is an Associate Director at Bristol-Myers
Squibb, where he has worked as a Biostatistician for the
last 18 years. Before joining BMS he worked at the
Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Currently he is working on
an initiative to enhance the analysis and reporting
capabilities at BMS. Prior to this he supported clinical
trials for cardiovascular and neuroscience indications.
Sterling has a BA in Economics from Brigham Young
University and an MS in Decision Science from Arizona
State University. He has been an active member of the
Connecticut Chapter, primarily by organizing or helping
to organize the Statistical Poster Competition since
1997. He has also served as Chapter Secretary, Vice
President, President, and most recently as Treasurer.
