The 2007 New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports is
a meeting of statisticians and quantitative analysts connected with
sports teams, sports media, and universities to discuss common problems
of interest in statistical modeling and analysis of sports data.
The symposium format is a mixture of talks and posters,
as well as a panel discussion. The proceedings of the symposium will be
published in a special issue of the
Journal of Quantitative Analysis in
Sports (JQAS).
The meeting is sponsored jointly by the following organizations:
- Harvard University Department of Statistics
- Section on Statistics in Sports of the American Statistical Association
- Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association
- Section on Operations Research in Sports of the Institute for
Operations Research and the Management Sciences.
