Dr. Majeske
gave
a presentation on “Approving
Measurement Systems when using Calculated Values ”
which was well received. He
presented a methodology for approving a
measurement system when the variable of interest is not directly
measured. Rather, the manufacturer
measures some other
related variables to calculate or predict the quality characteristic. Professor Majeske
and Chris Gearhart of Ford Motor Company are currently writing a paper
on this
topic, and that paper, when published, will have all of the information
presented. Dr. Majeske is an Assistant
Professor of
Quantitative Methods in the Department of Decision and Information
Sciences at
