“Approving measurement systems when using calculated values "
Nov 9, 2004
A Presentation by Karl Majeske, Ph.D

Dr. Majeske gave a presentation on “Approving Measurement Systems when using Calculated Values which was well received.   He presented a methodology for approving a measurement system when the variable of interest is not directly measured.   Rather, the manufacturer measures some other related variables to calculate or predict the quality characteristic.   Professor Majeske and Chris Gearhart of Ford Motor Company are currently writing a paper on this topic, and that paper, when published, will have all of the information presented. Dr. Majeske is an Assistant Professor of Quantitative Methods in the Department of Decision and Information Sciences at Oakland University.  He has a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan.
