“Bayesian
Statistics "
November 8, 2005
A Presentation by Gary McDonald
The evening Chapter Mtg was
combined with a course lecture (at OU) in a course on “Bayesian
Statistics”, taught by Gary McDonald, Ph.D. His
course lecture topic that evening was “A Bayes Approach to the Problem
of Making Repairs” which was well received. Dr. McDonald
retired from General Motors in 2002 as Director of the Enterprise
Systems Laboratory. Since then, he has held a visiting
faculty position in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at
Oakland University. He has a Ph.D. in Mathematical Statistics
from the Purdue University. There were 31 attendees
(including the students in Dr. McDonald’s class) at the Chapter/class
meeting.
