The keynote speaker was
Karry Roberts, M.S. Her presentation was entitled "Using Paper
Helicopters as a Classroom Example of Multifactor Design of
Experiments". Ms. Roberts is a Technical Leader at
Ford Motor Co., with a specialty in statistical applications for
manufacturing process engineering and development. She
described how and when to use DoE, the importance of knowing why (to
make a strong business case for the expenses involved), presented the
helicopter experiment, described an orthogonal array example, graphical
data analysis, and an example of interaction effects. There
were 11 attendees at the Chapter meeting.
