On Friday evening, 3/14/03, several Chapter members served as statistics Special Awards judges in the Southeast Michigan Science Fair, held at Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti Township, MI. The judging was a joint effort with the Ann Arbor Chapter of ASA, and included members from both Chapters. We provided Certificates of Recognition, Certificates of Merit, and 2 Awards of Excellence to those students' exhibits showing the most extensive use of statistics in their research projects. For the 2 Awards of Excellence, special certificates were given, and the Statistics Judges all signed copies of the "Cartoon Guide to Statistics" book.
