Conference Information > Events

In addition to the JSM technical program, there are various meetings and events that take place during the conference. Also known as "Committee/Business/ICW (In Conjunction with Meetings)" in the JSM online program, many of these events include refreshments. If you plan to attend a particular Committee/Business meeting or ICW, you can search for the date/time of the meeting/event in the JSM online program. If you are the organizer of one of these functions, you will need to submit a Meeting Request Form.

Online submission of meeting requests for JSM 2013 is now closed. If you missed the deadline for online submissions and would like to schedule a meeting room at JSM, please send an email to meetings@amstat.org Meeting space requests after the deadline are handled on a first come, first serve basis. We will try our best to accommodate your meeting day and time request.

To make your conference experience more enjoyable, we have planned several social events during which you can unwind and mingle informally. These events are open to registered attendees and badged guests at no extra cost.

Join fellow first-timers at this orientation reception and learn how to get involved in JSM. Hear about the benefits of membership and get tips about the conference.

Monday, August 5, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
The Student Mixer provides an opportunity for students to join their contemporaries for a fun-filled time. Enjoy light fare and a chance to win prizes.

JSM Dance Party and Lounge, Sponsored by IBM
Tuesday, August 6, 9:30 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.
A fun highlight of JSM, the dance party and lounge is held right after the ASA President's Address and Founders and Fellows recognition ceremony. There are snacks, a cash bar, and a live DJ.
