Call for Nominations: Reviews Editor,
Journal of the American Statistical Association/The American Statistician
The American Statistical Association invites nominations and applications for the position of Reviews Editor of the Journal of the American Statistical Association and The American Statistician.
The Reviews section in JASA publishes all review-type articles and reviews of recently published books relevant to the JASA audience. The Reviews section in TAS publishes reviews of materials related to the teaching of statistics. This includes textbooks; special volumes and proceedings concerning statistical education; software, videotapes, organized sources of data, and Internet resources intended for statistical education; and other similar items.
The new editor will serve from 2011 through 2013, with the transition beginning in 2010.
If you know someone who would be right for the editorship of the Reviews sections, please send that person's name, email address, and a brief description of his or her qualifications to journals@amstat.org. The search committee will contact your nominee to see if she or he is interested in applying.
Those interested in becoming the next JASA/TAS Reviews editor are encouraged to nominate themselves.
Nominations should be made no later than December 1, 2009.
