Outreach & Initiatives

The Science Policy program is one of the ASA's many initiatives. Activities include the execution of strategic and short-range plans designed to increase the participation and visibility of the statistical profession.

The Caucus of Academic Representatives is a group within the ASA that consists of the chairs/heads/leaders (or their designated representative) of departments of statistics and biostatistics (or statistical/biostatistical units within larger departments) at academic institutions within the United States. The purpose of the caucus is to promote the statistics discipline within the academic community and provide resources for academic statisticians to successfully advocate for the discipline.

Outreach efforts such as the Directory of Minority Statisticians and Directory of Statistical Consultants seek to extend our reach beyond the typical ASA member and to serve the broader communities of data users and practitioners.
