Welcome!

This web site is meant to help improve awareness and knowledge of mentoring in the development of a career as a statistician. Mentoring, broadly construed, is an important topic throughout one’s career - whether you are a graduate student wondering what your first professional position will be and looking for advice about the professional labor force to a senior statistician seeking to help guide new professionals in their careers based on knowledge and experience.

The web site identifies resources on mentoring and, in particular, identifies American Statistical Association mentoring activities, selected mentoring case studies, mentoring programs and mentoring awards programs, links to mentoring programs in academic departments, and general mentoring resources. A number of activities of the ASA focus on mentoring are identified – the ASA “Career Center” and “Professional Needs” links and the Committee on Career Development activities, for example, and these are featured in the site.
