The chair of the committee is the immediate past chair of the section. There are three other members. Members serve a three-year term. Each year, the chair of the committee appoints a new member as one member rotates off.

Committee chair reviews the slate of officers needed and confers with committee members. Committee chair posts/sends a notice soliciting interest from section members – in Section web page and electronic discussion group. |

Nominating committee contacts potential candidates and makes sure they understand the responsibilities of the position, encourages them to attend JSM section activities, refers them to the time and task descriptions on the Section web site and sends them appropriate information from the ASA Handbook for Officers. |
