Statistical Education Sessions for ISI-56 Conference in Lisbon

The International Association for Statistical Education (IASE) is sponsoring the following session for the 56th meeting of the International Statistical Institute, to be held in Lisbon on August 22-29:
- Research on reasoning about distribution
- How modern technologies have changed the curriculum in introductory courses
- Preparing teachers of statistics
- Research on the use of simulation in teaching statistics and probability
- Optimising internet-based resources for teaching statistics
- Observational studies, confounding, and multivariate thinking
- Teaching of official statistics
- Teaching of survey statistics
- Studying variability through sports phenomena
- Use of symbolic computing systems in teaching statistics
In addition, IASE is co-sponsoring the session:
- Statistical education and literacy in the 21st century
Finally, IASE will sponsor two open meetings at which broad participation is encouraged:
- Open meeting for young scholars: Writing about statistics education research
- Open meeting for the International Statistical Literacy Project: Action to reach the statistically illiterate
