Volume 1, Number 1 (Winter 1995)
The Central Regional Meeting of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS)
will be held in Iowa City, Iowa on May 15-17, 1995. The meeting will honor the
70th birthday of Bob Hogg. The conference will be held jointly with the
Section on Statistical Education and the Quality and Productivity Section of
the American Statistical Association. Special invited lectures will be given by
George Box and Ron Randles. There will be sessions on education, TQM, order
restricted inference, nonparametrics, and experimental design.
Two education sessions are being organized: one by Jon Cryer and another by
Richard Madsen. Details were being worked out as this newsletter went to
press. You should be alert to continuing announcements for this conference in
AMSTAT News.
