The purpose of this section is to provide a forum for statisticians working in the areas of defense, military research, national security, homeland security, and counterterrorism.

2008 SDNS Distinguished Achievement Award

The 2008 SDNS Distinguished Achievement Award was given to Dr. Paul Ellner, "For your lifetime of dedication to promoting the use of statistical methods in the Department of Defense (DoD) community. For improving the manner in which the Army, DoD, and the private sector model and manage system reliability. For applying statistical and mathematical methods to improve systems for Warfighters and for mentoring people and effecting change in organizations throughout your career."
