Luncheons at the Joint Meetings
ASQ Freund International Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of Richard A. Freund, a past president of
ASQ. It is for graduate study of the theory and application of quality control,
quality assurance, quality improvement, and total quality management. It covers
the engineering, statistical, managerial, and behavioral foundations of those
fields. The scholarship is offered to members and nonmembers worldwide. Study
may take place in one’s own country or in another country.
ASQ Ellis R. Ott Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is two-fold: to honor the life and work of
Ellis R. Ott, a pioneer in the field of applied statistics and quality
management, and to encourage students to pursue a rewarding career in a
field that greatly benefits society. Individual awards of up to $5000 per
student and academic year are given to qualified students in a field related
to statistics and quality.
Spring Research Conference
The sponsoring societies (IMS and SPES) and the SRC management committee are offering several student scholarships. They are intended to support student expenses for registration and lodging.
Each applicant for a student scholarship must submit a contributed abstract by the March 15 deadline and indicate a wish to be considered for a scholarship by checking the box in the abstract submission form. Recipients will be selected based on the submitted abstracts' adherence to the conference focus. Notification of scholarship selections will be sent out by March 31.

Quality and Productivity Research Conference
The Quality and Productivity section of the ASA has established the endowed Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship
to award two students with $2,500 each to attend the annual Quality and Productivity Research Conference.
Master's and doctoral students interested in Quality can apply for a Natrella scholarship by about March 1 of the
award year to attend that year’s conference. In addition to the $2,500 award, the scholarship will also cover
conference registration, conference short courses, and a $500 stipend for travel costs. See

Gordon Research Conference
The Gordon Research Conference on Statistics in Chemistry and Chemical
Engineering sponsors conference registration and housing scholarships
for two 'young' scientists presenting posters. Those wishing to apply for a
scholarship should send (1) a title and
abstract as well as (2) a letter of recommendation to the vice-chair. See
