You have reached the web page of the ASA Section on Risk Analysis. The members of our Section are a diverse group of theoretical and applied statisticians with interests ranging from the economy and the environment to medicine and security. Below, you can read more about our History and Mission

As you browse through our web page, you will read about some of our activities at the Joint Statistical Meetings. Every year our activities include several Invited and Contributed sessions, as well as an informal mixer where our members meet the officers and each other. Occasionally our mixers are given jointly with other ASA sections.

Moreover, every year, before the JSM, we organize a student competition where we award one or more travel awards to students who submit the best qualifying papers. During the JSM, we evaluate the presentations in the Contributed Sessions and give the Best Paper Award. This award is presented to the recipient during the following year's JSM.
