In celebration of the International Year of Statistics, the Dept. of Statistics (Univ. of Akron, OH) and the ASA Cleveland Chapter are jointly hosting a full-day symposium on statistical methodology and practice ('Statistics at the Crossroads: Its Multifaceted Impact on the Society'). Invited sessions on bioinformatics, survival analysis/joint modeling, clinical trials/observational studies, stats in finance/industry, stats education. Featured speakers: David Morganstein (ASA President-Elect), Mark Schluchter, Bin Nan, Shili Lin, George C. Tseng, Michael Levine, Deb Rumsey, Rajeshwari Sundaram, Samiran Ghosh and more.
