Help Stimulate Students’ Interest in Statistics: Announcing the ASA Hands-On Statistics Competition

The American Statistical Association will participate in the USA Science and Engineering Festival, October 23-24, 2010, on the National Mall in Washington, DC. We want your help to design hands-on activities to attract students to the ASA booth. The winning entry will receive a $750 prize, plus an expenses-paid trip for two to the festival. Two gold medal prizes of $500 also will be awarded.

President Obama announced the establishment of National Lab Day, a nationwide movement to bring together stakeholders in communities of support where science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) professionals and teachers work together to provide high-quality, hands-on, discovery-based lab experiences for students.
