    This meeting is only for members of the Council of Sections Governing Board and those individuals who have been invited to make presentations.


    Sunday, August 3, 2008 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM Hyatt Regency Granite A-C
    Council of Sections Meeting – Linda Gage, Chair COSGB

    This is an open meeting for members of the Council of Sections Governing Board and the Council of Sections (Section Representatives) along with individuals who are scheduled to make presentations to these groups. Sections whose representatives will not be in attendance may send other officers to represent their Section. Newly elected officers whose terms start 1 January are welcomed to attend this meeting. Section officers will be given information at this meeting which should be taken back and discussed at their individual Section business meeting during the week at JSM. There will be a follow up meeting on August 7 to discuss items presented at this meeting.

    Council of Sections Publications, Editors, and Webmasters Meeting – Andre Lubeke, Secretary COSGB

    This is an open meeting for Section members who are publications editors (print and electronic) and webmasters. The purpose of this meeting is to exchange ideas and ask questions of ASA staff regarding procedures for publications, web pages and email groups.

    This meeting is a follow up to the meeting held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 1:30 PM. Section representatives should attend with input from their Section business meeting on items presented at the Sunday meeting by the Council of Sections Governing Board.

    This is a closed meeting for members of the Council of Sections Governing Board to follow up on items presented on Sunday, August 3, 2008 and responses from the COS.


  • Sections can produce their own newsletters or enlist the help of the ASA. See the newsletter guidelines, for cost, and other information for producing newsletters.
  • MS Word Example Section Welcome Letter for New Members
  • Sections chairs are encouraged to submit section news, announcements, and featured section material to the Chapters & Sections Coordinator.
  • Section officers will want to acquaint themselves with the editorial calendar of Amstat News.
