Do you want to use something from this site?
Materials you find on the Internet are easily copied, but remember they are covered by copyright laws. You need to get permission before you use our graphics or distribute any material found here, with the exception of items marked "Press Release" or quotations used under fair-use policies.

What Is Fair Use?
You can use excerpts from copyrighted works without permission under the rules of "fair use." The 1961 Report of the Register of Copyrights on the General Revision of the U.S. Copyright Law cites examples of activities courts have regarded as fair use: "quotation of excerpts in a review or criticism for purposes of illustration or comment; quotation of short passages in a scholarly or technical work, for illustration or clarification of the author's observations; use in a parody of some of the content of the work parodied; summary of an address or article, with brief quotations, in a news report…"

The American Statistical Association provides excerpt RSS feeds for [each of its Wordpress websites]. This service is provided free of charge and is intended for private, non-commercial use. Unless permission is expressly granted by the American Statistical Association, any other uses are prohibited, including but not limited to the following:
- Splicing the RSS feeds into or otherwise redistributing them via third-party RSS providers
- Modifying or deleting content from the RSS feeds
- Adding content, including advertisements or promotional content to the RSS feeds
- Copying, reproducing, republishing RSS feeds
Use of the RSS service is subject to all other legal notices that govern the use of the ASA's websites. The ASA reserves the right to discontinue its feeds at any time.
