Beyond AP Statistics Workshop for Experienced Teachers

Workshop for Experienced Teachers

Sponsored by the ASA-NCTM Joint Committee on Curriculum in Statistics and Probability

Due to COVID-19, BAPS will no longer be held in Philadelphia in August. We are still working out details for alternatives and will post the information as soon as it is available. Please contact Rebecca Nichols at with questions.

The Beyond AP Statistics (BAPS) workshop is for AP Statistics teachers and two-year college educators and consists of enrichment material just beyond the basic AP/intro statistics syllabus. Organized by Roxy Peck of Cal Poly, the workshop is divided into four sessions led by noted statisticians. Topics in recent years have included experimental design, topics in survey methodology, multiple regression, logistic regression, what to do when assumptions are not met, and randomization tests.

Refreshments, handouts, a pass to visit the JSM exhibit hall, and a certificate of participation from the ASA certifying professional development hours are included. Optional graduate credit also is available.

The 2020 program will be posted when available.

The workshop fee is $50. Course attendees do not need to register for the Joint Statistical Meetings* to participate in this workshop. Online registration will be available soon.

*The Joint Statistical Meetings are the largest annual gathering of statisticians, where thousands from around the world meet to share advances in statistical knowledge.
