Double Your Gift to the ASA Links Lecture Award

To encourage donations to the ASA Links Lecture Award, Fritz and Elizabeth Scheuren have offered to match all donations made toward the award up to $5,000 until October 19.

“The Links Lecture is intended to support the healthy evolution of official statistics, which provide critical evidence for decision-making in the economy, government, and broader society,” said Fritz. “Elizabeth and I feel very passionately about this, which is why we want to encourage others to support the award and lecture series.”

Established in the fall of 2017, the Links Lecture Award was created to celebrate a group of statisticians who have been important links in the advancement of official statistics: Connie Citro, Robert Groves, and Fritz Scheuren. The award and lecture bring more visibility to the issues surrounding the advancement of official statistics, including the statistical use of administrative records and alternative data sources; record linkage; statistical methods for creating blended estimates; and researcher access to and privacy, confidentiality, and reproducibility of results.

The 2019 Links Lecture will be given October 18 at the National Academy of Sciences.

Donations can be made online or by contacting Amanda Malloy, ASA director of development, at amanda@amstat.org or (703) 684-1221, Ext. 1861.
