ASA Bestows Prestigious Fellow Designation Upon 62 Statisticians

It’s a distinction only conferred upon one-third of one percent of the ASA’s membership. This year’s class is comprised of statisticians from academia, business, government, and research organizations, hailing from 25 states, the District of Columbia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, and Mexico. Fellows will be officially recognized at an awards ceremony Tuesday, August 1, 2017, during the Joint Statistical Meetings (JSM 2017) in Baltimore.

“They’ve had a tremendous impact on the way we understand data and interpret the world around us and have proven that collaboration, innovation, and the ability to solve complex real-world problems are all possible with statistics,” notes ASA President Barry Nussbaum.
